Alton Keel, your host, is a former Ambassador to NATO who is honored to have held several high-level government positions as well as executive positions in finance and technology in the private sector. While in government service, he earned the moniker of the ‘Forest Gump of governmental affairs’ for seeming to have been at the epicenter of numerous historic international and national events. He is now an entrepreneur and gentleman farmer on his Fairhill Farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, southwest of Washington, DC and north of Charlottesville, VA. He began hosting in 2004 after acquiring one of his farms to prevent it from being developed. He enjoys sharing the serenity of his 150-acre farm with his guests, with its majestic views of the Blue Ridge Mountain, private hiking trails, river frontage, pond and pool. He prides himself on the numerous Five Star ratings his cottages receive. He and his dedicated and professional staff cater to his guests to ensure that their stay is enjoyable. In addition to the passion he has for hosting, he also has a passion for collecting fine wines and rare bourbons as well as for keeping fit.
